ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards driver Justin Boston will attempt to make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) debut at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway later this month, CATCHFENCE.com has learned.
Venturini Motorsports (VMS), the team that Boston rides full-time in the No. 25 Toyota Camry has signed the Baltimore, Maryland native to a four-race truck deal, which also includes the final three races of the 2014 season from Texas Motor Speedway, Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway and the season-finale at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway respectively.
Keeping to tradition for Venturini Motorsports’, Boston will drive the No. 25 Toyota Tundra in the UNOH 200 presented by ZLOOP on Wednesday, August 20. Furthermore, backing for Boston’s stint will come from Hickory, North Carolina-based ZLOOP, an e-waste recycling company.
Boston, 24, is in the midst of his second full-time season in ARCA carrying the flagship banner for Venturini Motorsports. After an uncharacteristically slow start to the season, Boston is carrying five consecutive top-10 finishes in competition, including a fifth place finish in Friday afternoon’s ModSpace 125 at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway. He also recorded his first career win earlier this season at Toledo Speedway.
Following his fifth top-five of the year, the former X-1R Pro Cup Series driver has one win, five top-fives and seven top-10 finishes to his credit. The botched start to the year, plus two additional subdued finishes at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway and Michigan International Speedway in June have erased the fan favorite from likely contending for a championship. However, he remains unofficially fifth in the series standings with six races remaining.
He finished third in the ARCA championship standings and captured Rookie of the Year honors in 2013.
The team is utilizing the four events to potentially expand Boston’s horizons to include a full-time rookie NCWTS assault in 2015.
The team has not named a crew chief for Boston.
