You hear it all the time, “NASCAR is nothing but left turns.” It is so much bigger than that. It is bigger than cars on the track, it’s bigger than 200MPH. It is about the fans, down home drivers, family, friends, God, and Country.
This weekend I was in Richmond for the Toyotacare 250, As I was setting up in the Media Center, Samantha Busch walked in to talk about an award she received from Comcast. It tugged my heart strings.
My beautiful wife and I tried to have a child for 12 years. As much as we wanted to say, ‘It’s ok, we will be okay if we don’t have a child.’ I think both of us knew there was something missing. Every mother and father deserves the chance to be a parent. We were blessed to have a child in 2006 and I has been one of the biggest blessings of our lives.
Samantha and Kyle tried for years to have a child. The couple underwent In Vitro Fertilization treatment (IVF) and successfully were able to have a son, Braxton in May 2015. Samantha wants this option of IVF to be available to everyone. The problem is, insurance does not cover the $24,000 cost for the procedure. Samantha admits they were lucky enough to afford the procedure, most people do not make enough to pay for the cost of the procedure.
Through the Kyle Busch foundation, Samantha and Kyle came up with the Bundle of Joy Fund to make it possible for families who can not afford the $24,000 to undergo IVF and have a child. Samantha admitted that even if insurance companies would cover 50% of the cost it would be more help than what it is right now. The fund has helped 17 couples, 10 of those couples were able to successfully get pregnant. For more information, visit the Kyle Busch Foundation and Bundle of Joy Fund.
