SPARTA, Ky. – Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Ty Dillon is the latest name to be added for next week’s Eldora Dirt Derby at Eldora Speedway.
Dillon will drive a third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series entry for Young’s Motorsports as a teammate to Austin Hill (No. 02 Chevrolet) and dirt ace Tanner Thorson (No. 20 Chevrolet).
Dillon will compete in his fifth Truck Series race at Eldora, missing only the 2016 event.
For the second consecutive Eldora race, K&L Ready Mix will support Dillon’s efforts.
“I’m excited for this opportunity to return to Eldora Speedway with Young’s Motorsports,” said Dillon. “This is always a great opportunity to go race on dirt without any pressure except to go out there, have fun and hopefully win.
“Young’s Motorsports has done a great job this season and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to contend for a strong finish with K&L Ready Mix.”
In his prior starts at Eldora, the three-time Truck Series winner has one top-five and two top-10 finishes at the Ohio-based dirt track. Last year, he qualified a track best fifth driving for MDM Motorsports.
Thorson’s efforts will be backed by Ohio Logistics.
“I’m really proud that we’re taking three trucks to Eldora,” said Young’s Motorsports team principal Tyler Young. “All the guys on the Young’s Motorsports team have worked very hard to make sure that all three trucks are capable of winning the race.
“It’s going to be a very competitive race, but we’re prepared for that and I think it’s going to be a very strong night for the Young’s Motorsports team. I can’t wait.”
Thorson, the 2016 USAC National Midget Series champion will make his third Truck Series start of the year and look to better a career-best 13th earned last month at Iowa Speedway.
Hill, a native of Winston, Ga. has earned three top-10 finishes in 2018 and finished 16th in Thursday night’s Buckle Up Your Truck 225 at Kentucky Speedway.
