DARLINGTON, S.C.: Joey Logano has started his 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Playoff campaign on the right foot after edging Christopher Bell for the pole for Sunday’s Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.
With his second pole of the season, Logano sweeps the top starting spot for both races at the historic South Carolina race track in 2022.
“I like winning a lot,” Logano said of his 24th career Cup pole.. “That’s what we come here to do. When you fire off in the playoffs you want to have a good start and this pit stall here is so important.
“It really kind of helped us win the race in the spring. I’m super-proud of this team and continuing the run that we’re on. Got to keep it rolling.”
Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell carried the speed from practice in his No. 20 yahoo! Toyota Camry to join Logano on the outside pole in second.
