So the season is finally almost here, and I’m excited and ready to go. Since my last blog, we’ve made a crew chief change on the team which I think is going to help us out moving forward in this season. Since Daytona, the days have pretty much been laid back and just relaxing.
With the past few weeks being laid back, it’s allowed me to catch up on some things and sometimes just do nothing. I’ve gotten hooked on iRacing, which is a lot of fun and I enjoy racing against all the other people online. It can be frustrating because you have to have a clean race to gain any points, and when people cut across the track in front of you sometimes, that makes it hard. But, I’m slowly getting the hang of it.
I’ll also get on the Xbox and play some Call of Duty when I’m just sitting at home, which is a lot of fun too. I’ve also been able to get into the gym more than I can when the season kicks into full swing. I’m not the biggest fan of working out, but I’ve started to like it a little more, the more I do it. Over at the shop, with no real deadlines because of races things are getting done and the guys are able to head home at a decent time rather than spending late nights there.
As for the weeks to come, I’m going to both Darlington and Bristol for different appearances. I’ll be leaving on Thursday to go down to Darlington for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race and give pit tours for American Marketing Group. I will be doing a program with the Wounded Warriors Project, and giving pit tours for everyone that attends the organizations hospitality event. It’s really neat and such an honor to meet and give a tour to these heroes!
The following week I will be leaving on Wednesday and headed to Bristol for an autograph session. I’m doing and autograph session with Elliot Sadler and Trevor Bayne for Food City. I’m looking forward to going to both of the events because it will give me great experience for the future and I think they will be a lot of fun!
