Hello Everyone,
So since my last blog, we’ve had a lot go here at CGH Motorsports with the Talladega ARCA race and some activity around the CGH shop. We’re also gearing up for this weekend at Salem, which marks the third race of the year.
We decided to move from our 5,000 square foot shop in Concord, North Carolina to a 7,000 square foot shop in Mooresville. The move made a lot of sense for us because the shop is air conditioned which will make it a lot easier on the guys in the shop during the summer. Also, a lot of the necessities are close by. Overall, the whole move will be a lot better for the our entire operation through the year.
Last Wednesday we drove up to Salem, Indiana and tested one of our short track cars at the Salem Speedway. It was my first time on a short track in anything other than a legend car so it was a completely different feel.
It took two or three times out on the track to get used to it and up to speed but once I got myself up to speed we were off and running with the car and adjusting the car to the feel I wanted. It was also the first race track other than a superspeedway that Rob “Bucket” Torrey, Kevin Reed, and I had worked together. Everything went really well and we all worked together really well, we figured out the feel that I like and it was a great feeling to end the day on a high note.
We drove all through the night after the test and got home around 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning. We all went home and got a few hours of rest and met back at the shop around noon to get a game plan for the weekend of moving. We then went on to organize everything in the old shop to get ready and move it all the following day.
Friday was the start of the moving and it got hectic with all of the things we had accumulated over the course of the 2 years that we were in that location. Finally we got everything moved to Mooresville and it was time to get organized and settled in. We still don’t have everything in order yet but its time to get ready for the Salem race which I think we are all really excited for.
Personally, I’m really excited to just finally get off of the superspeedways and to a track that’s a little more technical on the driver’s part. I think we’re going to have a really good run and I’ll have quite a bit of information to share with everyone upon our return from Salem.
