So it has actually been a while since I last updated my blog. A lot has gone on around the shop, at one point we only had two of our six cars left in the shop. The rest were out getting frame work done, at Performance Vehicle Works or at the paint shop. I just recently picked up the Talladega car from the paint booth and I must say for myself, the car looks great! I’m looking forward to having our No. 58 Tastee Apple Chevrolet Impala SS fast next week.
We were supposed to go and test at Salem with two other teams, but that was pushed back. The one good thing about the test being pushed back is that it gives us time to work on all of the cars in the shop, and also just means we already have our Salem car put together and race ready. We’ve been working hard on preparing not only for Talladega but the back-to-back short tracks at Salem and Toledo. I’ve never been to either, so I’m a little anxious to get there and see what their like and hope we can have some good finishes.
I’m looking forward to Talladega this time around because I think we will have a really good car. The guys in the shop have worked really hard and long hours on this car to get everything exactly how it needs to be for race weekend starting bright and early Wednesday morning for a full day of technical inspection. After the race in Talladega, we will come home and unload the big hauler and move everything into the forty foot gooseneck to head out to Salem. The test that was originally scheduled for this week was rescheduled for the week between Talladega and the Salem race, so it gives us a good turn around time between the two including the test in the mix.
I don’t think I’ll be doing a blog next week, so I invite you all to please tune into SPEED next Friday afternoon (April 15) at 5:00 p.m. Eastern for the 3 Amigos 250 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. I hope the only car you’ll be rooting for is our No. 58 Tastee Apple Chevrolet! =)
Don’t forget to stay connected with me through our team websites, Facebook and even Twitter too!
As always, thanks for reading and don’t forget Mother’s Day is coming up. A BIG Tastee Chocolate Apple will go a long way!!
Until then,
