So I’m sitting here on the balcony over looking the beach down here in Daytona. My family, the crew, and I just got in earlier today. The hauler is parked and now we are all back the hotel relaxing while we can, before tomorrow starts.
Tomorrow starts a full day of technical inspection on the car. They will check everything from the carburetor, to the fuel cell, to all of my safety gear to check and make sure it is all legal. There is absolutely no on-track activity tomorrow.
Thursday we have a little more fun at the track because have tech in the morning for a little bit but then we hit the track right after lunch for a few hours. Friday may turn into a hectic day because we need to qualify into the show on-time but I think that we will have Casper running pretty good!
Casper is the name of the car we brought back down here, Timmy McKichan from Performance Vehicle Works named it that for some reason, and it has just stuck ever since. I love the name!
I’m really excited about the race on Saturday I feel like we are going to have a very good car and we will be running up front if I can avoid the incidents on-track, ahead of me. I don’t have too high of expectations for the car or this weekend in general just because it is the nature of restrictor-plate racing to not know what to expect!
I appreciate everyone support of Tastee Apple, CGH Motorsports and Chad Hackenbracht!
If you can’t be at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, please be sure to tune in on SPEED beginning at 4:30 p.m. Eastern and watch the 2011 ARCA Racing Series season-opener kick off in style!
As always, thanks for reading!
