Raleigh, N.C. (Aug. 23, 2024) – Advance Auto Parts Foundation (AAPF), the philanthropic arm of Advance Auto Parts, and The NASCAR Foundation, each announced $5,000 gifts to Fix It Forward, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in DeLand, Fla. The check presentations took place at Advance’s store in Daytona Beach, Fla., on 2220 W. International Speedway Blvd. on Friday, Aug. 23.
Established in early 2024 and led by U.S. Army veteran Ed Rosa, Fix It Forward helps low-income residents of central Florida with free vehicle repairs. Rosa himself completes the repairs, ranging from brake jobs to replacing shocks and struts, belts and hoses, starters and alternators, and oil changes. On average, he repairs approximately 15 vehicles per month, serving homeless and disabled combat veterans, senior citizens and single parents through his free vehicle repair services.
“Advance Auto Parts Foundation is proud to support military veterans who have selflessly served our country,” said Junior Word, Advance’s executive vice president of U.S. stores and AAP Foundation director. “Ed is performing life-changing work that is helping individuals in need with safe and reliable transport. We are honored to work alongside our partners at The NASCAR Foundation to provide Ed with this gift to help him continue serving his community.”
“The NASCAR Foundation is committed to funding initiatives that provide essential needs to children and families in our racing communities,” said Nichole Krieger, The NASCAR Foundation’s vice president and executive director. “We are pleased to partner with Advance Auto Parts Foundation to also support those families who are a part of our military and veteran communities as well.”
Joining the store event for the check presentations were representatives from Advance, NASCAR, The NASCAR Foundation, and Advance-sponsored race car driver and 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champion, Ryan Blaney.
