NASCAR crew chief Billy Scott has found a new home for the 2020 season.
The Statesville, N.C. resident called the shots for Daniel Suarez in the No. 41 Ford Mustang this season, however, on Wednesday, Stewart-Haas Racing revealed their 2020 NASCAR Cup Series crew chief lineup with Scott’s name absent from the lineup.
Thursday night, Scott tweeted that he will join Richard Childress Racing for the 2020 season.
It has been exciting to start my next adventure with @RCRracing this week. Thank you to a lot of people for all of the support, inquiries, and offers over the past few weeks. I'm certainly looking forward to this opportunity at my new home.

While his role wasn’t identified Thursday night, FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass tweeted Friday that Scott will be the head of race engineering for the company.
RCR has not announced a crew chief for their No. 21 NASCAR Xfinity Series program next season, as their current roster will have new roles for the impending new season.
2019 RCR Xfinity Series crew chiefs Jason Alexander (No. 21) and Randall Burnett (No. 2) have been elevated to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2020. Alexander will reunite with Austin Dillon, while Burnett will guide back-to-back NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Tyler Reddick aboard the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro.
