With 489 NASCAR Cup Series starts to his credit, Mears will arrive in Martinsville in pursuit of 500, a mark eclipsed by only 47 other drivers in the sport’s history. He looks forward to having Canter Power Systems along for the ride.

Mears carries with him one of the most recognized names in auto racing. A NASCAR Cup Series winner, he has also captured four Cup Series Pole Awards, including the 2004 Brickyard 400, where he set the track record. Versatility being a cornerstone for Mears, he was the first full-time NASCAR driver to achieve an overall victory at the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona (2006). In his return to desert racing in 2019, he won his class and finished third overall at the NORRA 1000, before posting a 12th place finish in the highly challenging Trophy Truck Class at the famed Baja 1000, which he ran in 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024.
Casey Mears will hit the paperclip-shaped half-mile oval at Martinsville Speedway for the weekend’s opening practice session on Saturday, March 29, at 2 p.m. ET. Qualifying will follow at 3:10 p.m. ET.
The Cook Out 400 NASCAR Cup Series race is on Sunday, March 30, and it will be televised
live on FS1 beginning at 3 p.m. ET. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) will carry the live radio broadcast, along with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
