MARTINSVILLE, Va.: No matter what happens to Chase Briscoe in Sunday’s Cook Out 400 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver has already enjoyed a winning weekend.
Before NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying on Saturday afternoon, Briscoe and his wife, Marissa, publicly announced on social media that the Briscoe family is expanding and is set to add a pair of twins this October.
This fall, the Briscoe family will become a party of five to join their son Brooks, born in 2021.
The personal news is a welcomed happy announcement for the Briscoe family. Briscoe met wife Marissa on a dating app and wed following the conclusion of the NASCAR season in 2019.
The two announced in early 2020 that they were expecting the birth of their first child. Tragically, Marissa Briscoe suffered a miscarriage. Shortly after their announcement of losing their child, Briscoe won at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway in the NASCAR Xfinity Series amidst an emotional post-race interview where the Mitchell, Ind. native poured his heart out to the NASCAR community.
Since then, life has continued to be full of blessings for the Phoenix spring 2022 NASCAR Cup Series winner.
Entering Sunday’s eighth Cup Series race of the season, Briscoe has mounted two top-10 finishes aboard his No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Mustang and sits 18th in the Cup Series standings.
Briscoe, 29, is eyeing his second NASCAR Cup Series Playoff run in his fourth season of Cup competition for the SHR team. After finishing ninth in 2022, the former ARCA Menards Series struggled in 2023 with one pole and eight top-10 finishes but a distant 30th in the final championship standings.
