Two days after Wood Brothers Racing announced a long-term partnership with Go Fas Racing owner Archie St. Hilaire to acquire the No. 32 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series charter, St. Hilaire confirmed to CATCHFENCE.com that he has formed a partnership with Circle Sport Racing and owner Joe Falk to acquire a new charter for their No. 32 Ford driven by Matt DiBenedetto this season.
The partnership guarantees the team’s participation in the “Great American Race,” the 60th annual Daytona 500 on Sun, Feb. 18.
The new alliance between the two mainstay Cup Series teams will allow them to combine marketing partners for the season with a plan to increase their on-track performance in DiBenedetto’s sophomore season at Go Fas.
“This deal pretty much fills our plate for the 2018 season,” said Archie St. Hilaire, owner of Go Fas Racing. “We decided that the best long-term strategy for GFR’s original charter was to strike a deal with our good friends at Wood Brothers Racing which left us seeking a charter for our own No.32 car.
“I think this partnership with Joe Falk is mutually beneficial for both Joe and ourselves going into the future. Joe has been in the business for a long time and will add a wealth of knowledge to our programs in 2018 and beyond.
Last year, DiBenedetto and Go Fas Racing were considered one of the most improved Cup Series teams in the garage, improving six spots in the owner standings with DiBenedetto posting two top-10 finishes along the way in the Daytona 500 and at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway in August.
Falk says he has been talking to St. Hilaire about the partnership for nearly a year and while the performances from his former team Circle Sport Racing weren’t up to standards, he is confident that his new relationship with Go Fas and Ford will be positive on all fronts.
“We have been talking about doing this for over a year and it was a big decision to switch to Ford, but we believe it will pay off,” said Joe Falk. “This is a performance business and we have not had the team to get good finishes.”
Falk added he plans to run an “open” Cup Series team with Go Fas this season with Go Green Racing (owned by St. Hilaire) XFINITY Series driver Joey Gase in select races.
“We are also working on running the No.33 car in select events with young drivers such as Joey Gase to help get them prepared for a full Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season going forward.”
