DOVER, Del. – The No. 32 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Go FAS Racing hauler was involved in an accident entering the Dover (Del.) International Speedway infield Thursday night.
According to a team spokesperson, the hauler was waiting in line before being parked in the Cup Series garage when the body of a garbage truck shifted on Dover’s steep banking and collided with the stopped hauler, causing significant damage to the left side.
The team’s rented tractor also received damaged.
No one was injured.
“Not sure what happened there, but it’s kind of ironic that I used to own a garbage company and we get wrecked by a garbage truck,” said Go FAS Racing owner Archie St. Hilaire. “Hopefully, it’s the only damage we get this weekend at Dover.”
A Dover International Speedway spokesperson confirmed the incident to CATCHFENCE.com and said that an incident report had been filed with its security office.
Go FAS Racing fields an entry for driver Matt DiBenedetto in Cup with a season high of ninth in the season-opening Daytona 500 on Feb. 26.
