DANVILLE, VA. (March 11, 2025)– God’s Pit Crew, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families and individuals in need, is partnering again with Martinsville Speedway to distribute 1,000 food boxes filled with food and everyday essentials to local residents.
The Food Box Distribution event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Martinsville Speedway. Anyone wishing to take part is asked to enter from Business 220 onto Industrial Park Road, then turn right onto Clover Road and follow the signs and volunteer instructions to the distribution site.
This initiative is designed to support anyone who may benefit from food staples and household items. Community members are invited to pick up one food box per family in addition to a case of drinks at this drive-through event. A maximum of two families may be represented per vehicle, and a representative must be present from each family.
Each 25-pound food box will contain essential items to help families in need, including but not limited to canned goods, shelf-stable foods, pasta, and a Bible. The goal is to provide immediate assistance to households in Southside Virginia and surrounding areas.
“We are always excited to collaborate with Martinsville Speedway to give back to our local region and provide vital resources to those in need,” shared God’s Pit Crew President Randy Johnson. “In times of hardship, it’s important that we come together as a community to help each other, and we hope this food distribution can make a difference for many families.”
Families in need are encouraged to drive through the designated distribution area at Martinsville Speedway during the event hours to receive their food boxes. No pre-registration is required, and the event is open to all residents of Martinsville, Henry County, and all surrounding areas.
“We are honored to work with God’s Pit Crew to support this important cause,” said Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell. “This partnership represents the strength and compassion of our community, and we’re thrilled to be part of an effort that will provide essential supplies to those who need them most.”
This distribution is scheduled to take place prior to the Speedway’s Spring NASCAR weekend, which brings thousands of racing fans from across the country to Martinsville. The partnership between God’s Pit Crew and the Speedway highlights the community spirit and commitment to giving back during this exciting time for the region.
