Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and NASCAR have agreed to a new long-term extension, multiple sources confirmed to Motorsport.com.
The Akron, Ohio-based manufacturer has been involved in the sport since 1954. For the last two decades, Goodyear has been the exclusive tire supplier for NASCAR’s top three series.
That relationship will continue for at least the next five years as part of a new deal which will be formally announced Saturday morning at Homestead-Miami Speedway, sources said.
As recently as last weekend, Stu Grant, Goodyear’s general manager of worldwide racing, had told Motorsport.com that an extension was “very close” and would be announced, “hopefully very soon.”
