Hello loyal readers and other folks. Hope ya all enjoyed your race weekend like Duck and I surely did. We had ourselves a real good woohooin’ 3 days. Yessirree we did then when I went to write my race report yesterday my dadgum computer went all crazy like. I called in Fixit Freddy and just when he was about to give up on it he found the problem. One of Duck’s feathers, or a piece of one, somehow got inside the keyboard. He strongly suggested I keep Duck out of my race report writin’ area but I told him like I’m tellin’ you here and now, that just ain’t gonna happen no how no way. Know what I mean? Poor Duck.
Anyway, those night races at Bristol are just amazin’, exciiin’ and the stuff that wonderful dreams and horrible nightmares are made of. Know what I mean? So Duck and I figured the weekend races were gonna be like the usual Friday, Saturday and Sunday schedule. I was washin’ up the dishes on Wednesday early evenin’ and Duck just happened to be channel surfin’ and shrieked like only a shocked Duck can. Why it scared me so bad like that I dropped the dish rag and ran for him expectin’ the worst. Low and behold Duck pointed to the TV and then I shrieked too! The Truck race was about to begin! Oh my good and gracious LORD we made it just in time. So we settled in on the divan, minus any snacks or refreshments of course, and cheered and quacked as the green flag flew for CG, TP, Bodine, G/B Brad and Ryan Blaney. We were just so thrilled to see Dave’s boy doin’ so well. He looks like a sweet young’un and a real good chip off his Daddy’s block! Better listen to Granny on this one…that boy is gonna be big and some other big name racin’ folks think so too but more on that later!
Anyway right off the bat TP took the lead away from Cale Gale and lead all of the laps. All of ’em! Can you believe that one? Yessirre even when fuel was a concern for some that boy did the almost always impossible and just managed to be pretty much the only name on everybody’s talkin’ about Bristol lips. Why Duck and I were so pleased for that boy. That’s his 2nd win this season ya know. Anyway PK, Chastain, Coulter and Gaughan rounded out the top 5. FTWWTK Ryan Blaney, I just have to say it again that we just love this boy, finished 6th, Handsome finished 9th after startin’n 17th, WYG finished 2 laps down in the 21st spot and the rest you can look up. TP is still the points leader 17 points ahead of Buescher, WYG is 3rd 8 points behind Buescher, Lofton is 6 points behind WYG in 4th and PK is tied with Lofton. The rest you can look up.
So Duck and I figured we ought to check out the rest of the weekend’s racin’ schedule to make sure we didn’t mess up and miss some. We were just too tired to do it that night though so I finished washin’ the dishes, hooked Duck up to a dryin’ towel and we finished, headed to bed and slept right nicely for a change. Next mornin’ we checked with NASCAR.com and found out the Nationwide race was Friday and Cup was Saturday. Guess that schedule was all changed up cause of those ball sports that Duck and I don’t watch. A few years back I thought if we participated in some kind of one of those ball type games maybe we would get hooked but it didn’t work out. I got real upset like at some guy in a striped shirt (I think he might have been a jail bird or some such somethin’ or other) who was bossin’ everybody around so I went to straighten that boy out and next moment Duck and I were on some dirty ol’ bench in some smelly room so we just left. I figure if ya get ticked off in one ball type of game you’re gonna get ticked off at any ol’ ball type game so that finished that idea let me tell ya one somethin’ right now. Enough said.
Anyway Thursday we did all our chores early, went into town for some store goods, watched some TV and rested up for the next day. Friday we got up early, tended to our daily work and got ourselves ready for the Nationwide race. Lord we do like that Bristol track. I’ve said it before and only our good and gracious LORD knows how many more time those words will pass my lips again but that’s neither here nor there. We were just so pleased to see that darlin’ sweet Trevor Bayne on the pole. Wide smilin’ was next followed by Brian Scott, WOG and Ricky Jr. Ryan Blaney runnin’ for someone else started in 12th and the rest you can look up. Gotta get to the results cause this here report is takin’ too long so after 250 laps Wide Smilin’ won. Good for him I say! Ricky Jr was next, Rowdy Boy was 3rd, WOG finished 4th and Curly Sadler finished 5th. The rest you can look up. As far as the points Curly Sadler is still leadin’ and is now 19 points over Ricky Jr and the next 7 are the same as last week and That Girl moved up one spot to 10th. And any other stuff you want to know you can look up too.
So Saturday evening we were ready for racin’ again. That’s one of those no brainers, huh? Anyway Casey Mears was on the pole bless his heart and G/B Brad was 2nd followed by Biff, Wide Smilin’ and Almirola. No more time on starters. You can look up the rest. Duck of course was hopeful for Flippin’ Carl. I did warn him before the race that this track is one of those tough ones but any fan always hopes for the best and Duck is a loyal soul and Flippin’ Carl is deservin’ so whatever I say. Anyway we settled in for 500 laps of Bristol. It wasn’t borin’ neither but I gotta get to the point here. There were 13 cautions but honestly there racefans I personally was just plain old shocked that there weren’t more. This is Bristol after all and has that new surface so this is the first time the any of the drivers were racin’ on it so I was ready for pert near any stuff. I wasn’t wrong neither. We hear tell Shrader was a bit miffed with Leffler on the first caution. Well that ain’t no surprise and there was a whole lot of that goin’ on. In fact on the 9th caution Smoke and Robo banged into each other and Tony hit the wall. Well he was so mad he threw his helmet at Matt as he drove by and he nailed that car. We think Tony could be a good baseball pitcher if he ever wanted to be which is neither here not there, We’re just sayin’. Anyway Duck was gettin’ excited cause his idol was doin’ real good. I was thinkin’ I was bein’ too safe thinkin’ like but low and behold with 4 laps to go Flippin’ Carl was up front and runnin’ real, real good and then ran out of gas. Dagummitt! Sometimes I just hate it when I’m right. My poor Duck was devastated. Anyway with a GWC Denny Boy won. NSCJBMBAS took second followed by Jeffie, Vickers in that #55, Aussieman, .Rowdy, Bowyer, Wide Smilin’, Kahne and Menard. JR finished 16th and just look up the rest cause I need to get finished here for cryin’ out loud.
Biff leads the points, NSCJBMAS is 2nd, JR moved up to 3rd, Robo slipped to 4th and Truex moved up to 5th. You can look up the rest.
As for some other stuff that young Ryan Blaney has done got the attention he deserves just like I said he would. Yessirree he did for a fact. I read where G/B Brad has gotten him for some truck races for his truck team this year and then Penske (makes sense here if ya know what I mean) is gonna run him in some Nationwide races this year, Nor sure what 2013 holds for that boy but it will be great. You can put that in your pot and cook it for sure.
And seems some real hot smoke was lingerin’ on that track when Smoke and Robo got into each other. This is where it gets to be a he said this then the other he said that and the announcers said somethin’ else. All I know is at Bristol stink happens. STINK HAPPENS. Know what I mean? Course that kinda makes it all sound too silly but both those boys have not had the best year so I’m just sayin’. Tony, bless him, did say he was gonna run in to Matt every chance he gets the rest of this season. Know what? I believe him.
And another one somethin’…I don’t rightly remember which race we were watchin’ but Rusty and Brad were differein’ so much on some subject that I can’t remember and they were just talkin’ right over the other one. Lord have mercy boys you’re too big to act like that on TV. Do you 2 even remember now what that was about? Shame on ya! Talk one at a time so we all can hear and agree or disagree with one of ya. As it stands right now nobody even cares so all of that was just wasted jibberish! Know what I mean?
And finally Duck and I were laughin’ ourselves silly when That Girl shook her finger at David Ragan. It was cute but Danica, darlin’, I think you need to be a little tougher when you wanna show those boys you’ve had enough. Remember that Little Texas song from a good while back “You Need To Kick A Little”. Hunt it up sugar and play it over and over til’ it sinks in or just call me honey and we will figure this kick a little stuff out together. I do have a tiny bit of experience in this here area dearie. Not tryin’ to be pushy. I’m just slightly suggestin’…
So there ya have it. Hope it makes sense but who knows. You be the judge. That’s your job. I did my part. Email, comment or don’t. Don’t rightly care at this very moment, really, cause I am one very busy woman. Duck and Granny over and out!
