LONG POND, Pa. – September is national Childhood Cancer Awareness month and NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon will make a significant contribution towards research through his foundation and Kick-it event held during the month.
Gordon has committed to match all funds raised – up to $100,000 through Kick-It, a program and partner of the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation. Kick-It, is a national volunteer-driven effort focused solely on raising money for children’s cancer research through kick-ball games and peer-to-peer fundraising events.
Kick-It is committed to directing every possible dollar to research.
“Kick-It is about people joining together to help in finding a cure for childhood cancer,” said Gordon. “I am committed to finding a cure and the way to get there is through research. By matching funds raised through Kick-It games played this September, I hope to encourage others to join in the fight and spread awareness in their own communities.”
