Events include NASCAR driver Frankie Muniz reading to children at Avondale Library
PHOENIX (March 1, 2024) – As NASCAR returns to Phoenix Raceway March 8-10, the track and the sport will band together to make a difference within the community. Race week events include:
- Wednesday, March 6 – Pantry Kit Building with Valley of the Sun United Way: Phoenix Raceway and Valley of the Sun United Way invite Phoenix Raceway campers to pack Pantry Kits at Huss Brewing Co. Ale House in the Midway from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Pantry Kits will provide children, families and veterans with essential, shelf-stable meals to combat food insecurity.
- Thursday, March 7 – STEM Day at Phoenix Raceway: From 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Phoenix Raceway will host its first-ever STEM Day, where 500 students from across the valley will engage in fun, educational activities that highlight the science behind motorsports.
- Thursday, March 7 – Story Time with Frankie Muniz, Avondale Library: Phoenix Raceway, in partnership with City of Avondale Sam Garcia Library, will host a race car story time for children in the community from 11 a.m. until noon. Children will participate in racing activities, take photos with a pace car and hear from NASCAR Xfinity Series driver and actor Frankie Muniz.
- Friday, March 8 – NASCAR Foundation Speediatrics Fun Day Festival: The NASCAR Foundation will host students from Arizona Desert Elementary School at Phoenix Raceway for the Speediatrics Fun Day Festival. The NASCAR-themed field day promotes healthy lifestyle habits for children in local racing communities through racing-themed lifestyle programming.
Only a limited number of tickets remain available for the 2024 Phoenix Spring Race Weekend, March 8-10. The action on Friday, March 8, includes the ARCA Menards Series West practice and qualifying, NASCAR Cup Series practice and the General Tire 150. On Saturday, March 9, the Call811.com Every Dig. Every Time. 200 caps a day that also includes both NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Cup Series practices and qualifying. On Sunday, March 10, the Shriners Children’s 500 Race will close out the Spring race weekend. Fans are encouraged to visit www.phoenixraceway.com to secure their seats while supplies last.
