Richmond, Va. — Persistent rain forced postponement of Saturday night’s Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.
The race has been rescheduled to start Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern) live on FOX.
NASCAR officials made the decision shortly before 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano won his second pole of the season at the 0.75 mile oval. He will share the front row with Martinsville (Va.) Speedway winner Denny Hamlin. Series point’s leader Kevin Harvick rolls off fifth.
Chase Elliott making his second Cup Series start of the season qualified 16th in his No. 25 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports.
BK Racing has elected to make a driver change for the race. Jeb Burton who failed to qualify for the ninth race of the season will replace JJ Yeley who tweeted he’ll return to the No. 23 Toyota next weekend at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. Richmond is Burton’s hometown track and he has sponsorship from trucking company Estes for both Richmond Cup races this season.
Tickets for Saturday night’s race will be honored Sunday. Grandstand gates will open at 10:00 a.m., while parking lots will open at 7:00 a.m.
