Harrisburg, NC, February 8th, 2024 – ARCA Menards Series West Regular Takuma Koga is making a splash and joining Fast Track Racing to kick off the 2024 Season at Daytona. The Nagoya, Japan native is set to pilot the no. 01 for the team owned by the two-time Daytona winner Andy Hillenburg.
“It is an absolute dream come true,” said Koga. “Growing up in Japan I wasn’t exposed to American stock car racing, but I remember my first introduction to NASCAR at age 12, and it was Daytona. To be able to race on this track is such a huge honor for me.”
Koga participated in the annual pre-season test on January 12-13 and earned his Superspeedway license with Fast Track. With Help from his sponsors, MACNICA and CKB, Koga can turn what was a dream a month ago into a reality. “I would like to thank Fast Track Racing for giving me the opportunity and, of course, all the teams and fans that have supported me throughout my career.”
The 46-year-old veteran driver is coming off a successful 2023 West Series campaign, with a ninth-place points finish extending his streak to six consecutive Top-10 standings.
1999 Cup Series Champion crew chief Todd Parrott will call the shots from the pit box, and 1995 ARCA Menards Series Champion Driver Andy Hillenburg will serve as his Spotter for the race.
Race Fans can catch the season opener at Daytona live on FS1, MRN, and the Fox Sports App at 1:30 PM ET on Saturday, February 17.
