Cameron Hayley considered one of the hottest rookies on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) tour last season will be back in a fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series truck for ThorSport Racing.
The 18-year-old will join Matt Crafton, Rico Abreu and former Turner Scott Motorsports teammate Ben Rhodes as the Sandusky’s Ohio full-time lineup this season.
Hayley, the Calgary, Alberta Canada native will drive the No. 13 Cabinets by Hayley Toyota Tundra this season with new crew chief Eddie Troconis at the helm. Troconis considered a gifted engineer by his peers joins ThorSport Racing after a modest stint at Kyle Busch Motorsports.
After running three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races for the now defunct Turner Scott Motorsports, Hayley stepped into a full rookie effort last year, which blossomed into a sixth-place championship effort in 2014.
Included in 13 top-10 finishes last season saw a career-best finish of third at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway last October filled with three other top-five finishes and 13 top-10 runs in all.
Before moving to the NCWTS, Hayley piped in two full-time seasons of NASCAR K&N Pro Series West competition which led to a remarkable championship runner-up spot in 2013 and one win in 30 starts.
He spent one season in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East with Turner Scott Motorsports in the same ride that Dylan Kwasniewski soared to his K&N East championship the year before. Hayley produced championship like numbers, including a pole and seven top-fives, but lost the title to teammate Ben Rhodes. Still, the highlight of the year included making his NCWTS debut in his home country of Canada at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Ontario where he finished a respectable 11th after starting 10th.
Hayley gained notoriety in 2013 by winning the NASCAR K&N Pro Series race at the inaugural UNOH Battle at the Beach at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.
