Camping World will not renew its entitlement role as the title sponsor of the NASCAR Truck Series and will exit the sport at the end of the 2022 season, the company’s CEO Marcus Lemonis announced on social media Wednesday night.
Lemonis through his Camping World and Gander Outdoors brands have served as the title sponsor of NASCAR’s third national division since 2009 and joined the sport when the series’ inaugural partner Craftsman vacated the role at the end of the 2008 season.
“What an amazing opportunity it has been. 14 years, over 30 race entitlements, over 35 drivers sponsored and some of the best fans one could wish for. Thank you, NASCAR.
“Marketing and sponsorships continue to build and expand our Camping World business. BUT it’s the people that work IN the businesses every day that make it GO and GROW.
“In acknowledging what matters most, OUR PEOPLE, we have made the decision to reallocate those marketing dollars towards increasing the income and benefits of OUR PEOPLE.
From my perspective; THERE IS NO BETTER MONEY SPENT.”
He then ended the statement with a personal element: Marcus, NASCAR fan for life.

Camping World promoted the Truck Series for all but two years when in 2019 and 2020 the Gander Outdoors brand held the title role.
Lemonis has utilized the NASCAR platform to expand beyond the series entitlement position with several drivers, teams and tracks over the past two decades.
During the Coronavirus pandemic in 2021, Lemonis-owned companies partnered with at least 10 Truck Series drivers and teams in the FR8 Auctions 200 at Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway, primarily with the Overton’s brand which led to a top finish of fifth with driver Sheldon Creed.
Lemonis also created The Triple Truck Challenge bonus program which launched in 2019 which offered series regulars an opportunity to earn bonus money.
According to the Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern, Craftsman is potentially a leading candidate to replace Camping World.
