In a press conference held at Chicagoland Speedway Thursday afternoon, Andretti-Green Racing driver Danica Patrick has not ruled out the possibility of returning to the wheel of the No. 7 Boost Mobile/Motorola Dallara/Honda/Firestone for the 2010 Indy Racing League season but the only female winner in the IRL’s history also hasn’t ruled out the opportunity of jumping ship to stock cars next year.
“I have three races left and I’m going to focus on driving,” she said repeatedly.
When asked of the Rosco, Illinois native’s contract status with AGR for 2010, she again stated, “I have three races left and I’m going to focus on driving,”
The saga continues for the most popular driver in the Indy Racing League and more than likely her announcement when it comes will be anything short of spectacular.
Patrick, one of three female drivers entered for Saturday night’s event has four career starts at Chicagoland Speedway. She won the pole in her very first Windy City start in 2005 before finishing a track-best of sixth. She has yet to finish outside the top-12 in her three previous efforts.
