BROOKLYN, Mich. – Las Vegas, Nev. native Riley Herbst has been tapped by DGR-CROSLEY to compete in two upcoming NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races beginning with next Thursday night’s UNOH 200 at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.
Herbst, a driver at Joe Gibbs Racing will return to the team in the penultimate race of the year at ISM Raceway in November.
Advance Auto Parts will sponsor Herbst for his Bristol Truck Series debut.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to join DGR-Crosley for a few races this season,” said Herbst. “They’ve shown impressive speed in the Truck Series and are dominating the K&N Series right now. I think we’ll have a real shot to run up front and contend for a win in all three races.
“Having David [Gilliland] to lean on will be a huge asset as well. I was able to work with the 54 crew some last week in a test at Bristol and we learned a lot that will help us next week. I’m really looking forward to getting to Bristol.”
The 19-year-old will also compete in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race for DGR-CROSLEY at New Hampshire Motor Speedway next month.
Herbst has competed in both the NCWTS and NASCAR Xfinity Series this season. In his lone Truck Series start with Kyle Busch Motorsports, he earned a sixth-place finish at Gateway Motorsports Park. He also had an impressive showing in his Xfinity debut with Joe Gibbs Racing, finishing sixth at Iowa Speedway in June.
Following Bristol, Herbst will return to the Truck Series at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway next month driving a third truck for Kyle Busch Motorsports at his hometown track.
This season, Herbst is in his sophomore season of ARCA Racing Series competition with nine top-10 finishes heading to the series’ next race next weekend at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
