Myatt Snider, son of NBC Sports sportscaster Marty Snider will compete in eight NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races next season for Kyle Busch Motorsports.
Snider joins team owner Kyle Busch and NASCAR Next drivers Harrison Burton and Todd Gilliland who will jointly share the driving duties and complete the full season roster in the No. 51 Toyota Tundra for the 23-race schedule in 2017.
The 21-year-old driver will make his KBM debut in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway (Feb. 24) followed by Texas Motor Speedway (Jun. 9), Kentucky Speedway (Jul. 6), Chicagoland Speedway (Sept. 15), Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Sept. 30), Talladega Superspeedway (Oct. 14), Texas Motor Speedway (Nov. 3) and the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway (Nov. 17).
Louisiana Hot Sauce, a brand of hot sauce manufactured in New Iberia, La will continue to support Snider at Daytona.
Steadily, Snider has worked his way through the ranks of motorsports, despite a late start. Finding success with strong finishes in the CARS Tour Late Model Series last season, Snider leaped to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards this season competing in nine races for Cunningham Motorsports.
In his series debut at Toledo Speedway, Snider started third, led 35 laps en route to his first career victory. Snider then tailed two more top-five finishes at Iowa Speedway and Lucas Oil Raceway before being plagued by mechanical issues and a crash in his final three races at Chicago, Kentucky and Kansas respectively.
Overall, he grabbed three top-five and five top-10 finishes as a teammate to series champion Chase Briscoe.
Earlier this week, KBM announced that Busch would compete in five NCWTS races (Atlanta, Kansas, Charlotte, Pocono and Michigan), while 2016 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion Gilliland was slated for four (Gateway, Canadian Tire, New Hampshire and Phoenix) races and the Mooresville, N.C.-based team announced Thursday morning, Burton, son of NBC Sports analyst Jeff Burton would drive in six (Martinsville-1, Dover, Iowa, Eldora, Bristol and Martinsville-2) events.
Snider, a Charlotte, N.C. native made his series debut at Phoenix (Ariz.) International Raceway this season driving the No. 22 Toyota Tundra for AM Racing. After qualifying 19th, he finished a respectable 17th.
Kevin “Bono” Manion will continue to oversee the No. 51 team as crew chief next season. Manion joined KBM before the 2016 season after a stint at Richard Petty Motorsports.
The motorsports veteran ushered 2016 NASCAR XFINITY Series champion Daniel Suarez to his first NCWTS victory at Phoenix International Raceway in November. In addition to 15 XFINITY Series triumphs with drivers Martin Truex Jr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr., Manion also has five Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victories, most notably the 2010 Daytona 500 with driver Jamie McMurray.
